Establishment
The department of English was established in the year of 1999. Now it is one of the most prominent departments in the Arts faculty as it is associated with three faculties—Arts, Commerce and Science. The students from rural background are provided an opportunity to pursue higher studies in English Language & Literature. The department of English is enthusiastically involved in the process of teaching, learning and evaluation since its establishment. It has been always tried to increase the level of quality education undertaking various curricular and co-curricular activities for the students. Apart from the regular teaching-learning, it also tries to impart value education to the students. One of our alumni, Mr. Dilip Angadrao Pastapure has cleared SET and NET Examinations. He has obtained M. Phil degree and pursuing Ph. D. degree from Swami Ramanand Teerth Marathwada University, Nanded. Most of the students of our department have been teachers and doing jobs in different fields. The Department of English sensitizes students towards language and literature learning. The department aims at developing skills to promote future professionals in the fields of education, research, business, and publication.

About Research:
Dr. M. D. Pathan is the recognized Ph. D Guide of S.R.T.M.U. Nanded. One research scholar, Kakasaheb Dhondiba Dhaygude has been awarded Ph. D. degree under the co-supervision of Dr. M. D. Pathan. Presently, four research scholars are doing Ph.D. under the guidance of Dr. M. D. Pathan. All the faculty members of the department of English are research oriented. They are constantly publishing research papers in the national and international journals. Dr. D. S. More has published a book. The faculty actively participates in the national and international level seminars and conferences.

- Online National Elocution Competition was organized on 3rd January, 2021 on the Birth Anniversary of Savitribai Phule, the first woman teacher of India.
