IT Policy
Purpose:
The purpose of this document is to encourage faculty members, non-teaching staff, students, alumni and stakeholders of Sanjeevanee Mahavidyalaya, Chapoli for utilization of Information Technology (IT). It also covers the use of computers and others hardware such as printers, projectors and network infrastructure.
Policy Statement:
Sanjeevanee Mahavidyalaya, Chapoli provides computers, communication devices, internet resources to authorized users to help them in performing their work and completing educational studies. Use of these resources for any purpose that is not specially related to these purposes is prohibited , except for incidental personal use as defined in this policy.
Scope:
This policy governs the use of “IT Resources”, which include IT services, facilities and equipment the College owns or operates for the use of employees, students and others. All information stored in any form on IT Resources (e.g., in documents, video streams, audio recordings, etc.) and all communications transmitted in any manner using IT Resources (e.g., via e-mail, text-message and voice mail) are governed by this Policy.
Review Period:
The content controller of this Policy will conduct a review of this Policy when significant business process changes occur, to ensure the information contained herein is current and applicable.
Rules:
- To provide security measures for information Resources and all necessary passwords.
- Use of passwords and personal information in complex manner instead of simple.
- Use of computer ID for authorized use of Intellectual property, software licenses, and contractual agreements.
Prohibited Activities
The following activities are strictly prohibited:
- Unauthorized access for college equipments, facilities, information of account will be prohibited.
- Sharing own password and information to others will be prohibited.
- IT resources to intentionally interfere with work of other students, faculty member or college official is strictly prohibited.
- Information against Human Rights Codes is strictly prohibited.
- Information related to discrimination or intends to discriminate is strictly prohibited.
- Flooding the network with the messages, spreading viruses is strictly prohibited.
- Unauthorized access to disclose, copy, modify, delete information stored on IT Resources is strictly prohibited.
E-mail communications
Use of E-mails must comply with the rules for use of college IT resources.
Social networking sites
In addition, the College prohibits the following activities
- To publish confidential Information on social networking sites prior approval of college is must.
- To publish comment, opinions, statements related to college administration on social networking sites prior approval of college is necessary.
